FINAL YEAR PROJECT | Mar 2023 - Aug 2022

Beyond 5G Wireless Communication for Factory of the Future Conducted a simulation-based project focused on designing a 5G-enabled network for future factories, addressing issues such as device scalability, predictive maintenance, and achieving ultra-low latency and high reliability (99.99%). The project included:

  • Developed a hybrid mesh network topology with 50 nodes, simulated in MATLAB to model both fixed and mobile factory components.
  • Implemented predictive maintenance using decision-tree algorithms for fault detection in machinery.
  • Evaluated network latency and reliability using heat maps and breadth-first search algorithms to ensure optimal data flow.
This simulation demonstrated key 5G capabilities to improve manufacturing efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance real-time communication for Industrial 4.0 applications.

2
SYSTEM DESIGN PROJECT | Oct 2021 - Dec 2021

Jawi Pen to guide writing Jawi alphabet and to detect and provide guide to pronounce alphabet. Developed “JA-Pen”, a prototype device to help children improve Jawi writing and pronunciation skills impacted by pandemic disruptions. The device features two modes

  • Writing Mode: Uses an IR sensor to guide correct alphabet tracing, improving handwriting accuracy.
  • Pronunciation Mode: A voice recognition module provides feedback on correct pronunciation.
Contributions included circuit design, Arduino setup, and motion data collection using Edge Impulse. The project met its core objectives, with future improvements planned for size reduction, enhanced gesture recognition, and increased data processing capacity.
